Something Blue Wedding

Michael finished suiting up in the Parlor while Enuice slipped into her wedding gown with help from her bridesmaids in the Powder Room at Grand Gimeno. Accessories and finishing touches were added to complete her lace and sparkling ensemble, then it was time for the first look. Michael was already waiting with his back turned towards the bridal suite when Enuice stepped outside. With bouquet in hand, Eunice slowly approached Michael and tapped his shoulder. As soon as Michael turned around, smiles filled both the bride and groom’s faces and they shared sweet compliments and a warm embrace. The couple wandered around the venue posing for photos together, and then with their family members to ensure the lasting memories were caught on camera. As soon as guests began arriving, Michael and Eunice hid away until ceremony.

Guests entered through the Courtyard and into the Foyer where a welcome table greeted them. Gifts and cards were dropped off and selfies were taken on a polaroid camera in place of a traditional guest book, then everyone was ushered into the ceremony space. Wishbone chairs were lined up facing floral columns at the head of the aisle and matching floral arrangements marked the back. As soon as everyone was seated, Michael made his way down the aisle followed by the rest of the wedding party, and lastly, Eunice. The bride and groom both did their best to hold back tears when they saw each other. Once together, the two read vows, exchanged rings, and shared a sweet kiss when pronounced husband and wife. The newlyweds excitedly exited the ceremony as guests followed into cocktail hour.

Everyone was in for a real treat for cocktail hour. The bride and groom ordered our Spanish Tapas Bar which included their selection of Flank Steak with Goat Cheese on Toast, Empanadas de Pollo, and Sauteed Shrimp Skewers, and they added Avocado Toasts to ensure all their guests got plenty to eat. Everyone enjoyed watching some of the hors d’oeuvres being made at the Grand Gimeno built in bar while sipping on their drinks. A Mango Margarita and Passion Fruit Martini were the newlywed’s signature cocktails, and other beverages like beer and wine were served. Watercolor artists painted guest portraits during cocktail hour and more polaroid photos were taken to capture the wedding before everyone was asked to take a seat for dinner.

Tables were draped in our Cambria linens and topped with peach, taupe, light pink, and white florals. A little something blue made an appearance in the form of napkins and table numbers and candles were lit adding flickering light to the reception space. Everyone checked the seating chart and took a seat at their assigned tables awaiting the bride and groom. The music turned up and Eunice and Michael made their grand entrance through our blue doors and into the Olive Grove. Everyone stood and cheered as the couple took a seat at their sweetheart table. A quick but heartfelt thank you was shared by the newlyweds, then tables were excused one by one to the buffet. Back at the bar, meats, veggies, and tortillas were being grilled for dinner and guests got a front row ‘seat’. A Taco Station complete with with Pollo Asado, El Churrasco, and Al Pastor Tacos, Spanish Rice, Elote Creamed Corn, Black Beans, and Ensaladas Las Mesas filled the top of the bar, and everyone made their way down the buffet line filling their plates. The delicious menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our Event Specialist, Lauren. Once everyone got their food and sat back down, friends and family shared toasts. Tears were shed and laughs were contagious, and glasses clinked in the air as the last speech ended. To get everyone out on the dance floor, a competitive game of hula-hoop was played and the last man standing won a prize. Afterwards, everyone got up to show off their moves and indulge in some desserts. Family and friends surrounded the bride and groom as they danced the night away.
