A Wedding Filled with Tropics and Tradition
Jordann and her bridal party popped champagne and got ready inside the Powder Room at Grand Gimeno while Kyle and his groomsmen suited up inside the Parlor. Since the bride and groom waited until the aisle for their first look, Jordann shared two special first looks before the ceremony; one with her best friends, and the other with her father. Meanwhile, Kyle and his groomsmen posed together for pictures in front of the venue. Once group photos were complete, the wedding party lined up for ceremony.
Guests entered the Olive Grove, signed Kyle and Jordann’s guest book, and found a seat facing the venue. Greenery lined the aisle and an arbor with hanging floral leis stood tall at the head. Once everyone was in attendance, the recessional music cued up and the wedding party made their entrances. An emotional exchange was shared between the bride and groom when Kyle saw Jordann for the first time that day across the Olive Grove walking arm-in-arm with her father. Together in front of all their closest friends and family, the bride and groom recited vows, exchanged rings, and sealed the ceremony with a kiss as everyone cheered from the sidelines.
Guests were treated to our Poke Station during cocktail hour where they could create their own concoctions with Faroe Island Salmon Poke and an assortment of toppings. Tray passed Beef Picadillo Empanadas and Fig, Goat Cheese and Mascarpone Tarts were also available, and the bar was serving up the newlywed’s signature drinks; a Pina Colada on the Rocks and a Rose Drop Martini. While guests mixed and mingled, the bride and groom snuck away to share handwritten vows and pose for golden hour photos, and just as the sun set, everyone headed inside for dinner.
Tables were topped with lush greenery and tropical flowers and flickering candles created a romantic atmosphere. Kyle and Jordann made their grand entrance, shared their first dance, then took a seat at their head table with their friends. A dinner of Southwest Chicken, Chipotle Braised Short Ribs, Spanish Rice, Fajita Vegetables, and Mexican Caesar Salad was served, and the couple added another special treat for their guests to enjoy; our Taco Station with Al Pastor Tacos. The menu was selected by the bride and groom with help from our event specialist, Brittany. While everyone enjoyed dinner, family and friends shared toasts. Glasses clinked in the air when the last speech ended, then Jordann surprised Kyle with a hula dance in front of all their guests. The entertainment didn’t stop there! After Jordann’s beautiful dedication, a traditional Māori dance called the Haka was performed and the Samoan Slap Dance was shared. Kyle’s cousin, Bailey, joined in on the fun and performed a Taualuga, a traditional Samoan dance. To get everyone up and out of their chairs, Jordann kicked off the open dance floor with a Taualuga money dance encouraging family and friends to let loose and continue the celebration. After all the excitement, the bride changed into her mother’s wedding dress and went back out to party with everyone on the dance floor. The newlyweds knew all the festivities would work up a late night appetite, so they treated their guests to our Mini Corn Dogs and Fried Chicken and Waffle Bites as late night snacks. The evening ended with delicious snacks, slices of wedding cake for dessert, and Jordann and Kyle surrounded by all their loved ones.
